The Mahlkonig EK43 S is a more compact variant of the vaunted EK43 grinder. It has the same motor and grinding speeds with 98mm vertically mounted flat steel burrs. With the same all-purpose grinding range, particle distribution, and high speed performance of up to 21g/sec, the EK43 S is simply the grinder you choose when you need a shorter alternative to the full sized EK43. Features and BenefitsThe Mahlkonig EK43 S features huge 98 mm cast steel burrs spinning at an idle rate of 1760 RPM. Its impressive grinding speed of about 21 grams per second means that you can grind through a 12 oz retail bag of coffee in about 16 seconds. The shorter overall height of the EK43 S is better suited to operations where smaller retail bags will be most common, but the unchanged motor and burr set mean that this grinder will have no trouble keeping up with any frequency of grinding you throw at it. Fines are a byproduct of grinding coffee that are both the enemy and friend of baristas, but on the EK43 S, even the fines are pretty similar to the rest of the grinds.
