Questions about the Sanremo Café Racer 2 Group Espresso Machine5

What boiler system does the Sanremo Café Racer use?

The Café Racer uses a multiboiler system: a dedicated steam boiler, a preheating boiler and individual group boilers, with PID temperature control at 4 points. The steam boiler holds 8 liters on the 2 group and 10 liters on the 3 group, and the preheating boiler holds 1.6 liters on both.

How much does the Café Racer weigh?

Per the Sanremo brochure, the 2 group weighs 214 lb (97 kg) net and 333 lb (151 kg) with its shipping crate. The 3 group weighs 265 lb (120 kg) net and 388 lb (176 kg) crated.

Can the Café Racer fit tall cups?

Yes. The Sanremo all-in-one suspension system gives an adjustable-height work surface, so the cup rest can be set from 3.35 to 5.90 inches (85 to 150 mm) for cups of different shapes and heights.

Does the Café Racer have pre-infusion and volumetric dosing?

Yes. Electronic pre-infusion is programmable with 0.1 second precision, with 4 different profiles per group, and flowmeter volumetrics deliver an accurate, repeatable dose in the cup.

How does the Café Racer keep brew temperature stable?

Each group is AISI 316L stainless steel weighing 17.6 lb (8 kg), and the infusion water temperature of each group is set independently by PID with a 0.5 °C step and measured constancy under 0.2 °C. A high-performance volumetric pump keeps pressure stable when several groups run at once.
