About the Superkop Manual Lever Espresso Machine

The Superkop is a manual lever espresso machine for home baristas who want real espresso without electricity, pumps or screens. You pour boiling water from a kettle into its water cup, pull the lever and a gas spring builds the pressure, so it works anywhere on the counter and makes no noise.

How it works

  1. Grind the beans, fill the portafilter and tamp.
  2. Place the water cup on the portafilter, pour in boiling water and slide the combination into the machine.
  3. Pull the lever six times and push it gently to release the piston.

Key features

  • No electricity: fully mechanical lever and gas spring.
  • Built to be repaired: seals, gas spring, tension springs and water cup bottom are spare parts, with step-by-step repair guides from Superkop.
  • Tabletop stand: stands on the counter; a wall mount base is available separately.
  • Single and doppio baskets: Superkop offers 9 g and 18 g filter baskets and a naked portafilter.

Does the Superkop need electricity?

No. The Superkop is a fully manual lever espresso machine. You pour boiling water from a kettle into the water cup, and the lever and gas spring create the brewing pressure, so it needs no power outlet.

Can the Superkop be mounted on a wall?

This Superkop is the tabletop version on its stand. Superkop also sells a wall mount base separately for fixing the machine to a wall.

Which filter baskets does the Superkop use?

Superkop offers a single 9 g and a doppio 18 g filter basket for its portafilter, and a naked (bottomless) portafilter is available as an accessory.

Can a Superkop be repaired at home?

Yes. Superkop designs its machine to be taken apart and repaired at home. Seals, the gas spring, tension springs and the water cup bottom are sold as spare parts, and Superkop publishes step-by-step PDF guides for replacing each of them.
