About the Tone Touch 04 Batch Brewer

The Tone Touch 04 is a boilerless batch brewer from Swiss precision brewer maker TONE Kaffeemaschinen AG, built on the Touch 03 technology and optimized for brews from 1 to 4 liters. It is made for cafes and brew bars that want batch volume without giving up control over extraction.

  • Control agitation, flow rates and pulse patterns at any stage of brewing: blooming, turbulence and development.
  • Unlimited recipes, created and shared in the TONE Beverage Manager software (iOS, Android and Microsoft app stores).
  • 4 recipe buttons, each programmable with a coffee or tea recipe and a hot water profile for dispensing set quantities when the brew basket is removed.
  • Boilerless system with two heating elements (6900 W) that is instantly hot, with no traditional heating phase.
  • Dishwasher safe, removable brew basket carrier; condensation flows back into the brew basket; optional basket detection and locking; bypass for concentrate dilution.
  • Patented TONE descaling valve built in, and a black-box maintenance concept for simple service.

Installation

The Touch 04 is plumbed to a cold drinking water line (3 to 4 bar, 4 bar pressure reducer with check valve included) and rated 220-240V, 50/60Hz on two phases, both fused to 16A. A water softening filter is mandatory. Installation by a qualified electrician and plumber is required. Dispensers shown in photos are not included.

What electrical supply do the TONE Touch brewers need?

Both brewers are rated 220-240V, 50/60Hz. The Touch 03 draws 3450 W. The Touch 04 draws 6900 W across two phases, each fused to 16A. Have a licensed electrician confirm and install the supply; the exact ratings are on the type plate.

Do the TONE Touch brewers need a water line?

Yes, both connect to a cold drinking water line. The Touch 03 needs 1.5 to 3 bar water pressure. The Touch 04 needs 3 to 4 bar and ships with a 4 bar pressure reducer and check valve. A water softening filter is mandatory.

How are recipes programmed on the TONE Touch brewers?

Recipes are created and edited in TONE's recipe software (TONE Beverage Manager for the Touch 04, available on iOS, Android and Microsoft app stores) on a tablet connected to the brewer, then run from the recipe buttons. You can adjust temperature, flow rate, pulse patterns and brew time for the blooming, turbulence and development phases. The Touch 04 has 4 recipe buttons that can each hold a coffee or tea recipe and a hot water profile.

What warranty does TONE give on its brewers?

TONE Kaffeemaschinen AG warrants equipment it manufactures for 1 year parts and labor from the date of sale. Accessories and dispensers carry 1 year parts only. Failures caused by poor water quality, missing descaling or incorrect electrical connection are not covered.

Do TONE brewers need a water filter?

Yes. TONE states that a water softening filter system is mandatory for use of its equipment, and that using a brewer without one voids the warranty on the complete system.
