Victoria Arduino Athena Leva 3 Group Lever Espresso Machine

Both are manual lever machines with the same features. The 2 Group is 26 in wide with a 15.2 L boiler and draws 3000 W. The 3 Group is 34 in wide with a 22.8 L boiler and draws 5000 W. Both are 22 in deep and 28 in high. Each comes in Copper or Chrome, and the 2 Group and 3 Group are separate listings.

Both models run on 220 V. The 2 Group draws 3000 W and 21 A with a NEMA 6-20 plug. The 3 Group draws 5000 W and 23 A with a NEMA L6-30 plug, per the US distributor. Have an electrician confirm the circuit before installation.

The barista pulls each shot with a manual lever, which allows a high level of customization and calls for a skilled barista. Heat exchangers let you control the water temperature at the group, and a pressure reducer handles pre-infusion. A bar pump gauge shows the pressure. Victoria Arduino built its first lever machines in 1946.

The Athena Leva comes in Copper and Chrome. The bodywork is hammered by hand by craftsmen. The Chrome finish is priced higher than Copper.

The US distributor lists these water requirements: line pressure 2 to 4 bar, flow rate 1 gallon per minute, total dissolved solids 50 to 250 ppm, hardness under 3 grains per gallon (50 ppm), chlorine under 0.5 ppm, alkalinity 10 to 150 ppm, pH 6.5 to 8.5 and filtration under 1.0 micron. Water outside these specs can void the warranty, so a softener or filter is recommended where needed.
