Inside the La Marzocco Linea Micra: Boilers, Portafilter, and Daily Use

The Linea Micra puts two boilers and an integrated group inside a small footprint, so a home barista can pull shots and steam milk on the same compact machine. It runs from a self-contained 2 L reservoir, and the stainless steel body wipes clean with a soft cloth.

Dual Boilers, PID Control, and the Integrated Group

The Micra pairs a 0.25 L brew boiler with a 1.6 L steam boiler. PID control and an integrated grouphead work together for brewing temperature stability, and two pressure gauges show the coffee group and the steam pressure at a glance.

Convertible Portafilter and Brew Paddle

The portafilter converts between a single-spout, double-spout, and bottomless setup, and it accepts standard 58 mm tampers. Brewing starts with a paddle that looks like a mechanical one but works through an electric switch, and the pump is set to 9 bar at the factory, with a way to adjust it for owners who want a different setting.

La Marzocco Home App and Connectivity

A newer electronic board gives the Micra internet connectivity, so the app can change the brew temperature and other settings, run an automatic backflush, and schedule when the machine powers on and off.

Steam Wand, Hot Water, and Drip Tray

Around the group, a cool-touch steam wand handles milk drinks such as lattes and cappuccinos, and a hot water spout with its own valve sits separately for tea and other infusions. LED barista lights and a magnetic drip tray round out the station, along with a cup warmer tray.
