About the Synesso S200 2 Group Espresso Machine

The Synesso S200 is Synesso's compact 2 group machine for cafes, restaurants and coffee programs that want Synesso build quality and temperature stability with simple, consistent auto-volumetric operation. It is hand-built to order in Seattle and comes in matte Synesso Black or matte Synesso White.

What is the difference between the S200 and the S300?

Both machines share the same S-Series design and components. The S200 has 2 groups (27.6 in wide, 152 lb, 7.7 L steam boiler) and the S300 has 3 groups (37 in wide, 225 lb, 12.3 L steam boiler). Each group has its own 1.9 L stainless steel brew boiler with PID control.

What electrical service does the S-Series need?

Both models run on 220 V, single phase, on a dedicated circuit. Synesso lists 28 A for the S200 and 36 A for the S300. The machine ships without a plug: a qualified electrician or espresso technician fits a correctly rated plug and receptacle or wires it per local code.

What are the water and drain requirements for the S-Series?

A filtered cold water line with a shut-off valve and at least 50 psi (3.5 bar) of line pressure at 30 gallons per hour; the supplied hoses use 3/8 in compression fittings.

A drain under the machine; a 3/4 in drain hose is supplied. A pressure regulator is included, and a line boost is available for low pressure areas.

How do the S-Series volumetric recipes work?

The S-Series is auto-volumetric: each group stores up to 4 recipes, combined with adjustable auto pre-infusion. Baristas start a recipe by bumping the group paddle left or right, and a separate button flushes the group. A one-tap automatic backflush program is built in.

What colors are available for the S-Series?

The S200 and S300 come in matte Synesso White or matte Synesso Black. Synesso also offers custom RAL powder coating and wood accent kits as add-on options; contact us for a quote.

What warranty comes with a Synesso espresso machine?

Synesso commercial machines (MVP Hydra and S-Series) carry Synesso's limited 2 Year Plus warranty. Selected components, such as the machine body, frame, heating elements, wire harness and flow meters, are covered by a limited 5 year warranty, and Synesso's patented group head activation switches carry a lifetime warranty.

The ES.1 has its own limited warranty of 13 months from the date of shipment. All warranties require proper water treatment and are void without it.

Do Synesso machines need water treatment?

Yes. Synesso requires water treatment to keep the full machine warranty. Synesso does not prescribe one filter brand, because water quality varies by region; have your water tested by a water treatment specialist and choose a system that meets the water standards in the owner's manual.
